Bio:

Dr. Kuang-Ting Hsiao is Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Alabama. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware in 2000 with concentration in fluid-thermal sciences, transport phenomena in porous media, and polymer composites manufacturing. Before joining the University of South Alabama, Dr. Hsiao conducted research at the Center for Composite Materials (CCM), University of Delaware and worked under various projects sponsored by ARO, ONR, and NSF. At the University of South Alabama, Dr. Hsiao’s research projects have been sponsored by Alabama EPSCoR, NSF, DOE, NASA, Alabama Commission on Higher Education and partners from industry and academia. His research interests include dispersion of nano-particles in liquid matrix, synthesis and treatment of man-made and natural nanofibers/nanotubes, processing and characterization of advanced composite materials, nanocomposites, smart materials, multifunctional nanocomposites and composites, sensing and control techniques, heat/mass transfer, transport phenomena in porous media, and artificial intelligence in engineering applications.
